I’ve been involved in Web analytics, Internet marketing and have been a fan of the social media crazyness for a several years. You can find me on social sites here:
You can also download my resume (which needs some updating since I’ve been working as a consultant for Numeric Analytics as you can see below) here, where you can see I was a stuffy CPA priror to my life in analytics and Internet marketing:
Here are a few of the places I’ve worked in the past and what I’ve done there:
- Numeric Analytics - I’m currently an optimization consultant here. My primary responsibilities are the design and implementation of Web analytics solutions, specializing in Omniture, as well as working with clients on their site optimization needs (A/B and multivariate testing). Some of the clients that I have worked with include Harrah’s Entertainment, Sprint, IBM, Alaska Airlines, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and Aprimo. I am currently an Omniture Certified Professional with certifications in Omniture SiteCatalyst Implementation and Omniture Fusion Implementation (Omniture’s best practices around industry specific implementations).
- Jewelry Television - Was senior Web analyst here. I managed the company’s Web analytics, and had great success in helping the company integrate offline data, better leverage Omniture and it’s various tools, and I also worked on site and conversion optimization with Test&Target. I was also on the Omniture Discover Customer Advisory Board representing JTV and our e-commerce needs.
- Scripps Networks – I was a senior online analyst for Scripps. Here I got to work on the Web analytics of big name brands such as HGTV, The Food Network, DIY Network and Fine Living. Here, my experience was with large media sites.
- Edfinancial - I helped this company choose it’s Web analytics solution (Omntiure) and managed that part of the business. I also managed the company’s paid search program and aided in their e-mail marketing efforts.
- Mediapulse - At this online marketing agency, I helped establish a formal marketing service for clients for paid search and email marketing. I also worked with clients on tracking online success (aka Web analytics).
- Certified Public Accountant – Yes, I used to be a CPA. It’s one of the few professions where exactly what you do in school is exactly what you do on the job. It was that fun! Needless to say, having a background rooted in business and the analysis of numbers like this has proven to be helpful.
Outside of work, I’ve been happily married (to http://twitter.com/HollyEgan) for over 8 years and am the father of two great kiddos.
